The bank was established in 2017 following the merger of VTB Bank (Austria) AG, VTB Bank (Deutschland) AG and VTB Bank (France) SA – combining 45 years of European-Russian specialist banking experience. VTB Bank (Europe) SE offers a full range of commercial and investment banking products. The Credit Trading team works closely with Origination and Structuring on originating and executing debt financing transactions and manages a sizable portfolio of corporate and structured lending transactions including senior secured and unsecured, event driven (acquisition financing, pre-IPO), equity linked and asset backed financing. As the primary ‘risk-owner’, the Credit Trading team has ultimate P&L responsibility and is involved in every stage of transaction development - origination, structuring, execution and portfolio management.
Roles and responsibilities:
Supporting the team in pre-screening new opportunities, initial review, deal execution and portfolio management
Assisting in conducting company and industry analyses and support due diligence processes
Preparing, reviewing and refining financial models and valuation analyses Preparing internal and external memos and marketing materials Actively participating in executing transactions, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time
Assisting in driving internal credit and other approval processes
Monitoring existing portfolio positions
Requirements and skills:
Bachelor`s or Master’s degree from a top-tier institution, strong academic qualifications MBA, CFA or other financial industry certification is a plus
Previous internships in investment banking, investment management or credit/equity research
Experience in a credit product / lending area (Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Corporate Lending, etc.) is a plus
Strong analytical and quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and corporate finance
Ability to analyze complex financial information
Demonstrable experience in financial modelling, corporate finance and financial analysis is a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standard of work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Fluency in English and German
